Liverpool’s Greenbank Sports Academy, one of the UK’s top spots for inclusive sport and leisure, marked a major milestone last week, celebrating its 25th birthday! Part of Greenbank, a registered charity, the academy has a mission to support people to achieve their potential through inclusive education, sport and leisure activities.

Sir Philip Craven, Ex-President of the International Paralympic Committee, described the Academy as a “Jewel in the crown of the Paralympic movement”. The Academy has gone on to host many incredible sporting events, grow successful clubs and continues to support the Paralympic dreams of many world class local athletes.

To celebrate the occasion, the charity held a special Paralympian Gala Dinner which included:

  • Drinks reception with canapés and live music

  • Three-course dinner

  • Q&A with Paralympians, including Hannah Cockcroft and Nathan Maguire

  • Raffle and auction

As part of our Impact Strategy and commitment to supporting local communities, five amazing members of our hospitality team served food and drinks to guests on the night, completely free of charge.
