There's one thing that's for certain in life: students go with temp jobs like strawberries go with cream. It's a match made in heaven. When you're a student, in between classes, studying, and the weekly student nights in questionable bars, there leaves little room for the thing that pays the bills: a job...well, at least one that you have to go each and every week, no matter what your uni schedule looks like. That's where temp work comes in.

Unlike part-time jobs in which you'd be contracted to a set number of hours, temp work you can pick and choose your hours. So, during summer, you can pick up more shifts and those weeks when assignments are due, you can ensure your week is left free so you can spend those extra hours in the library.

This week, William Charge, one of our Liverpool hub's team members gave an insight into what you can expect as a student when you work with Arc.

Here’s what I learned working two completely different bar shifts last weekend.

Saturday: Serving a sea of football fans at Goodison Park.

Sunday: Pouring pints from a converted bus on Crosby Beach.

Both shifts booked through Arc Hospitality Recruitment - both totally different in pace, setup, and crowd.

Agency hospitality means walking into unfamiliar venues, picking up new systems fast, and working smoothly with new teams. It’s intense, but it’s also one of the best ways I’ve found to build soft skills while studying.

For students, it’s flexible, varied, and teaches you how to adapt quickly - whether you’re in a packed stadium or a chilled-out beach bar.

Thanks to Arc for making student work this dynamic.
