The Challenge
Liverpool Christmas Markets is a major seasonal operation, requiring a large, flexible workforce throughout one of the busiest periods of the year.

Running from 15th November through to 24th December, the markets require approximately 50 temporary staff every day across a variety of customer-facing and operational roles.

The challenge goes beyond simply supplying enough people.
With multiple stalls, operators, and functions running simultaneously, the client needs a staffing partner that can provide reliable, consistent, and well-organised teams throughout the entire festive period.
Our Solution
For the past five years, we have been the sole staffing supplier for Liverpool Christmas Markets, taking responsibility for sourcing, coordinating and managing the temporary workforce required across the event.

On an average day, we supply around 50 members of staff, covering roles including:

-
Games Operators
-
Bar Staff
-
Catering Assistants
-
Hot Chocolate Stalls
-
Food Stalls
-
Specialist food operators

Our role extends beyond recruitment. We manage the day-to-day staffing operation, including staff allocation, attendance and check-in, ensuring the right people are in the right positions and ready to work as well as ensuring the team are briefed on alcohol licensing laws, Ask Angela and any other particular requirements for the site.

A key focus is maintaining consistency throughout the event. Wherever possible, we retain the same team members across the market period, allowing staff to become familiar with their roles, locations and expectations. This reduces the need for repeated training and creates a more dependable workforce for the client.
We also understand that staffing requirements within a large-scale seasonal event can change quickly. Weather conditions, fluctuations in footfall, other events taking place across the city and unexpected operational demands can all impact staffing needs.

Our team remains on hand and flexible throughout the market period, working closely with the client to respond to these changes. Whether this means increasing staffing levels to support higher-than-expected footfall, adapting team allocations across the site or responding to last-minute requirements, we are able to react quickly and provide additional support where it is needed.

This responsive approach gives the client the reassurance that, alongside a consistent core workforce, they have a staffing partner who understands the complexities of the market environment and can adapt as circumstances change.
The Scale
5 years: Sole staffing supplier

40 days: Continuous seasonal operation

50 staff per day: Deployed across the Christmas Markets on an average day

Multiple roles: Supporting games, bars, catering and food & beverage operators

At approximately 50 staff per day across a 40-day event, this represents around 2,000 individual staffing shifts/placements each Christmas season.

The Results
Our long-standing partnership demonstrates our ability to deliver temporary staffing at scale while maintaining the reliability and consistency required for a high-footfall seasonal event.

By combining recruitment with hands-on workforce coordination, we help ensure the markets remain fully staffed throughout the festive period, including weekends, peak trading days and the crucial run-up to Christmas.
The result is a flexible, dependable workforce and one central staffing partner, giving the client confidence that their staffing requirements are covered throughout the event.
