Living Wage Week started today, and we at Arc would like to share and celebrate our progress on the work we are doing towards paying our team members the real Living Wage.
We increased the number of hours paid at the real Living Wage rate by 41% compared to July last year. On average, 44% of hours worked by Arc team members were paid at the Living Wage rate in 2021/22. This means fantastic improvement towards fair pay for our team members.
While it is the clients who set the rates at which you are paid, we always try to negotiate the best possible rate for you all. We show our commitment to fair pay by retaining our Recognised Service Provider accreditation. Through this, we are also committed to always offering a real Living Wage bid alongside every market rate submittal to all prospective and current clients. This means the client always has the choice to implement the real Living Wage at the point of tender.
As you could see earlier this year, the Living Wage Foundation released new rates with immediate effect. What this means for us as a Recognised Service Provider is that with every new client we sign on, we will promote and advocate to implement the new rate for their business with Arc. This way, we ensure that we reach our Impact Goal of paying at least 75% of our workforce at the real Living Wage rate by 2025.
