Case Study
The historic venue of Ascot Racecourse welcomes over 300,000 guests from across the globe for what is one of the most prestigious horse racing events in the world: Royal Ascot. A quintessential British icon that combines the country’s love of sports with its fondness for all things pomp and circumstance.
It’s an event that has captivated racegoers since 1807 and has been a firm favourite on the social calendars of the rich, royal and famous for centuries who gather for a spectacle like no other. As the British National Anthem roars and the Royal Standard is raised, the crowds of onlookers take off their hats to welcome the Royal Procession down the mile. Hearty hurrahs and charismatic cheers echo across the course as The Royal Family make their way to the Parade Ring: it’s oh so very British.
An event of this calibre requires a highly skilled workforce of consummate professionals, which is why the venue’s catering partner, Sodexo Prestige (more commonly known as 1711 by Ascot) calls upon Arc’s specialist skills in temporary hospitality recruitment to provide a 400-strong workforce across the 100 bars, fine dining restaurants, and the 225-strong private boxes. This year, the majority of our Team Members were assigned to the Royal Enclosure, an area that was originally reserved for the Royal Family and esteemed guests. It still remains to be the most exclusive area on the course and requires invitation-only membership.
Arc’s prestigious temporary workforce was led by our Lead People Operations Manager and Ascot recruitment expert, Beth Gwynne.
“Ascot will always be my favourite event of the year. The buzz and atmosphere are unbeatable. This year was a huge success, which is all thanks to our amazing team members! We are very lucky to have such a wonderful team.”
